Wrist & Hand Pain / Trigger Finger
Wrist, thumb, or finger pain — from tendons that catch and click to numbness and tingling.
What it is
An umbrella for the common wrist and hand problems I see: De Quervain’s tenosynovitis (thumb-side wrist tendons), trigger finger (stenosing tenosynovitis, where a finger catches or locks), and carpal tunnel syndrome (median nerve compression causing numbness and tingling). Each is diagnosed on its own and treated to the driver, not just the sore spot.

Common symptoms
- Thumb-side wrist pain with gripping, lifting, or wringing (De Quervain’s)
- A finger that catches, clicks, or locks, often with a tender nodule (trigger finger)
- Numbness or tingling in the thumb, index, and middle fingers, worse at night (carpal tunnel)
- Weak or clumsy grip
Why it happens: root cause
Repetitive grip, keyboard and phone load, or a sudden ramp in hand-intensive work outpaces what the tendons and nerve tunnel can tolerate. When load on a tissue chronically exceeds its capacity, pain shows up. My job is to close that gap, by lowering load, raising capacity, or both, so the tissue stops being overwhelmed.
